Building Bridges Through Culture
At the heart of our mission, we believe that culture has the power to connect us all—especially in times of uncertainty. Our Culture Connects programme fosters meaningful relationships between artists, cultural professionals, and organizations in both Tunisia and the UK. Through this initiative, we nurture collaboration, spark creativity, and support the sharing of cultural expressions with new audiences.
We achieve this through key pillars:
Connecting Cultural Professionals
We offer unique opportunities for cultural professionals to engage, network, and exchange ideas. Whether through conferences, masterclasses, or networking events, participants gain fresh perspectives on creative practices while building lasting connections. Our programme also provides opportunities for Tunisian delegations to attend UK festivals such as The Great Escape, Edinburgh International festival, WOMEX, fostering deeper cultural connections and collaboration. In addition, we build partnerships with Tunisian festivals to strengthen professional networks through capacity-building programmes focused on arts mediation, curation, and cultural management, helping creative professionals on both sides develop their skills and broaden their expertise.
Supporting Creative Collaborations
Through our grants and funding opportunities, we enable cultural organizations, festivals, and artists to come together and create new work. These collaborations are designed to engage diverse audiences and promote cultural exchange. Our open calls for grant applications are regularly announced on British Council social media channels, offering wide-ranging support for innovative projects.
Showcasing Opportunities
We empower artists to showcase their talents on an international stage. By supporting festivals and exhibitions in Tunisia, we help artists reach new audiences and break down cultural barriers. Our commitment extends to exploring fresh approaches to increasing audience engagement and ensuring that creative works resonate across borders.
