As part of our Culture Connects initiative, we are committed to empowering the next generation of cultural leaders. From May 17 to 22, 2024, and in partnership with Association festival International de Dougga, a comprehensive Youth Training in Cultural Event Management was held in Tebersouk, Tunisia. The training was facilitated by industry experts Tom Besford (Chief Executive of Sound Roots/English Folk Expo) and Mohamed Ben Said (Artistic Director of the Dougga Festival).

After a competitive online call for applications, 25 talented participants were selected, prioritizing youth from Dougga and neighbouring towns. This intensive training comprised nine distinct modules designed to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial skills, including:
  • Project management
  • Strategic planning
  • Financial management
  • Professional communication

In addition to building these vital skills, participants had the opportunity to engage with professionals across various sectors, helping them better understand the local market's challenges and opportunities.

As a practical extension of the training, several participants were selected to join the organizing committee for the Dougga International Festival (June 29 – July 10, 2024), gaining hands-on experience in managing a high-profile cultural event.
