 (C) British Council - The Institute of Music and Theatre of El Kef

In partnership with the Institute of Music and Theatre of El Kef, the British Council in Tunisia facilitated a cultural exchange by connecting with Bahraini-British jazz artist Yazz Ahmed. She led a masterclass titled "Harmony in Diversity: Exploring Psychedelic Arabic Jazz," attended by students, jazz musicians, educators, and local artists from Elkef region. Yazz Ahmed shared her expertise in blending Arabic music with British jazz and electronic music, discussing both the challenges and opportunities in contemporary music. She emphasized building international connections and fostering collaboration between the UK and the MENA region.

This event served not only as an educational platform for students but also as a bridge between diverse musical communities, fostering a deeper understanding of the creative process and the potential for cross-cultural collaboration. Through Yazz Ahmed's engaging dialogue, participants will gain valuable perspectives on navigating the complex landscape of contemporary music, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation.
