FAQ’s

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about IELTS On Computer:

1- Which test is more difficult?

Both tests have the same structure, content and marking so the difficulty is the same.

2- Will I receive a different test report?

No, you will receive the same report.

3- Can I take the test on my home computer?

No, you must go to a test centre.

4- Can I pause the test after I start?

The test cannot be paused, but if you need to go to the bathroom, you can hide the test temporarily. The finish time will not change.

5- Can I go back to review my answers before I submit them?

Yes, you can review the answers for each section (listening, reading and writing) as long as there is time left.

6- Do I need to type my answers directly into the computer as I listen?

Yes. There is no paper version of the test for listening. You need to complete the answers as you listen. There is no transfer time at the end of the listening section.

7- Can I highlight important text or keywords on the screen?

Yes, you can.

8- Will the computer show me spelling/grammar errors?

No, it won’t. It will, however, show how many words you have written for the writing section.

9- How many questions will there be on the screen on each page?

This varies, but there may be times when you will need to scroll or click between pages, just as you would need to change pages in the paper version of IELTS.

10- Will I get a paper to take notes?

No paper is provided.
